Christ Church

Christ Church was founded some years ago as a Holiday Chaplaincy to serve visitors to the resort of Ayia Napa. The church is an Anglican Church in the Evangelical tradition and has grown into a fellowship of people from various denominations – Baptist, Methodist, Roman Catholic, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Salvationist and other Free Churches.

Christ Church is a member of the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf and therefore has an ‘Anglican’ system of church governance which is based on the principle of ‘Episcopal Oversight’ whereby The Bishop appoints the priest. It’s congregation is drawn from Ayia Napa, Paralimni and the surrounding villages of Eastern Cyprus.

The church services are held in the bright and cheerful Scandinavian church in Ayia Napa on a Sunday morning at 11:00. Since the church was founded all have been welcome at the services which feature the proclamation of the Gospel plus Bible teaching. Whilst following the lectionary, teaching will often be through a themed ‘series’ based on a book of the Bible or a Discipleship topic

Other Activities

We hold a range of midweek activities that are open to all – ranging from home based groups and outreach social events such as Men’s Breakfast, Ladies Lunch and regular Coffee & Chat informal gatherings.

Throughout the year we also arrange special services away from our regular Church venue – at Cape Greko for example.

We also organise a Christmas Carol Service that is open to the public and typically held at Ayia Napa Town Hall. We work in partnership with the municipality of Ayia Napa to support their work in assisting needy families in the area with gifts of non-perishable ( food ) items

We are a friendly, welcoming Church ‘family’ that encourages support for each other, our local communities and others in need.  All are welcome to join us in this common purpose. We are also here to help and support you at times of major Life Events such as Baptisms, Weddings, Renewal of Vows and Funerals. Feel free to contact us for more information.
